Volcan Poas National Park
A 45 minute drive up the mountain and you are at Poas Volcano. Rising 2,708 meters above sea level, this volcano’s gas emissions have notably increased since 1989, causing acid rain that has damaged plant life in some areas of the park as well as neighboring agricultural plantations. The summit features two craters. The main crater is one and a half kilometers in diameter and 300 meters deep. The second is Laguna Botos is a cold rain-fed lake that runs off into Rio Angel, a tributary of Rio Sarapiqui that flows all the way to the Caribbean.

Doka Estates, a locally family owned coffee farm is located only 25 minutes from the hotel. It is on the on the slopes of the Poas Volcano, is a fantastic learning opportunity to everything coffee. Colinas Del Poas Canopy Tour
About a 30 minute drive up the mountain you will find Colinas Del Poas Canopy Tour. With the help of highly qualified and professional staff, visitors journey through the treetops on fourteen cables suspended high above the jungle trails. There are 24 platforms in the major trees creating an extraordinary trail in the forest canopy. The tour, of approximately two hours, is an experience filled with excitement and joy. This adventure ends with a glide down and impressing 1980 foot long cable. La Paz Waterfall and Gardens
35 minutes from the hotel La Paz Waterfall and Gardens are committed to entreating and educating visitors with world class ecological experience. The park is a celebration of bio-diversity as it is blessed with an altitude ranging from 4,300 fee (1,320 meters) to 5,000 feet (1,540 meters) that provides an ideal climate for both cloud and rain-forest to coexist.
